I got my ASI1600MM-Cooled last a couple of weeks ago but due to my schedule, I wasn’t able to test it, along with some bad seeing condition due to the fire happening at Monterey County.
Anyway, all I did was just to test with taking darks. Noticeably that how the cooling impacts a lot in eliminating the noise.
First Light
The Lagoon Nebula (M8)
I was so surprised in the result for this. I was just testing out the camera specially on how the noise will be controlled. I didn’t take any dark and just did a quick pre and post processing on Nebulosity and Photoshop.
Processed LRGB
The Omega Nebula (M17)
The image is a little bit difficult to process as there’s some alignment issues. The red channel seems to have a bigger stars and the green channel is a little bit under exposed. The noise seems to be very noticeable in the middle of the nebula and some details were lost.
